EVERNOTE PREMIUM REVIEW FOR FREE
As I write this, the desktop version, although available for free as a separate download, is not included with Office 2019 or Office 365.
EVERNOTE PREMIUM REVIEW WINDOWS 10
Note that there are two versions of OneNote for Windows: a desktop app and a Windows 10 app, also known as a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app. I spend more time on the Windows version of each, but I’ll note similarities and differences in other versions as well. This isn't a deep-dive review, but rather a personal look at what I like and don't much like about each - and the main points of difference between the two. I'm a longtime user of both applications, so I've taken a look at the latest version of each for Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone and Android.

But they also have some very distinct differences. OneNote and Evernote are available for all the major desktop and mobile OSes, they can each sync your notes to all of your devices and the web, and both promise to be the only note-taking app you need. (Microsoft hasn’t released user numbers for OneNote, but between Office and Windows 10, more than a billion users likely have a version of it installed on their machines.) Evernote launched in 2008 and has enjoyed steadily increasing user numbers since then the company now says it has 225 million users worldwide. Launched in 2003, OneNote was added to Microsoft Office in 2007 and is now bundled with Windows 10 and also offered for free as a standalone product. Evernote Personal adds unlimited sync, 200MB max note size, and 10GB of monthly uploads Evernote Professional doubles the monthly upload limit to 20GB.There are two leading contenders for the crown: Microsoft’s OneNote and the independent Evernote. Although you can create unlimited notes, they'll only synchronize with two devices at most. Similarly, you can now use Boolean search refinement, but only with a Professional subscription.Įvernote Free still comes with a 60MB monthly upload restriction, and a maximum 25MB note size. There's a long-awaited Linux beta of Evernote, and it's now possible to export notes and notebooks as PDFs. Again, you'll need a paid account to link a primary Google Calendar account, and a Professional one to link both personal and work Google accounts to Evernote. Notes can be linked to events, for easier rediscovery later one. If you want Tasks abilities like adding due dates and reminders, for example, you'll need at least a Personal subscription if you want to assign tasks to others, you'll need a Professional subscription.Ĭalendar integration, meanwhile, now allows Evernote to connect to Google Calendar. However, not all of the features will be available on every account tier. Tasks can also be assigned to other Evernote users. Finally, Evernote Teams will be $14.99 per user, per month.Įvernote Tasks, which the company had been trialing in Early Access beta since June, will support to-dos and notes. That will be priced at $7.99 per month (or $69.99 per year), while Evernote Professional will be $9.99 per month (or $99.99 per year). Evernote Basic is being renamed Evernote Free, while Evernote Premium is changing to Evernote Personal. Today, Evernote is shaking things up again.
EVERNOTE PREMIUM REVIEW UPGRADE
The company's decision to strip out functionality from its Evernote Basic plan in the hope of coaxing users into a paid upgrade also failed to go down well.
EVERNOTE PREMIUM REVIEW ANDROID
Though once a darling of organization strategies, greater competition and improvements in native – and free – apps like iOS' Notes and Google's Keep on Android saw pressure rise. It's been a rocky few years for Evernote. The note-keeping and organization tool is adding Tasks, Calendar integration, better search, and a long-requested Linux beta, in addition to bringing back some previously removed functions. Evernote has launched a new range of plans, with four tiers now including Evernote Free, though some users may find themselves frustrated by what has been left out of their paid subscription.
